Unruly Household
Yesterday was a surprising, eventful day. Got a call from the wife that she was having contractions and heading to the hospital about 4:30 PM. Then got another at 5:30 saying get your ass over here, they are going to do a cesarian as soon as the doctor can get here, they won't wait for you.
Got to the hospital about 6 PM. We had babies by 7 PM.
Our little girl was 4 Pounds 4 Ounces, our little boy 5 Pounds 13 Ounces. Both are very healthy and cried a lot. Momma is fine, and daddy is haggared after answering about 500 phone calls and trying to get photos and videos organized.
The picture above is their footprints on the paper scrubs I wore in the Operating Room.

Worst ISP Update
Looks like theWorst ISP is at it again.
My internet connection has been up and down for the past three weeks. Yesterday it finally died completely. The Worst ISP won't send a tech out till next Tuesday. So I'm without internet access till then.
Don't mind that I'm on call right now for work, the Worst ISP does not care.
Don't mind that I get my phone through Vonage right now, the Worst ISP does not care.
Don't mind that most of my recreational time is spent on XBOX Live!, the Worst ISP does not care.
DSL still sucks, but having an internet connection that can be down for days is killing me. I can't afford something with an SLA like T1, so I'm just screwed by the Worst ISP again.
Update:
I called the Worst ISP again this morning. The Worst ISP could do nothing to get a tech to my house sooner, but said I could exchange the modem at the Worst ISP Store and see if that does the trick. So my wife took the modem to the Worst ISP Store and I will install the new one when I get home tonight. Maybe I'll be back online with the Worst ISP tonight.

Stolen Sidekick Update
Looks like Sasha (like that pic of Sasha? After all her family's whining about her being only 16, I think it is funny she has a piereced tounge, only one reason a girl does that...) was arrested late yesterday, Evan does not want to press charges, but really should, I'll get to that later. The story is up at the New York Times, but you need a free registration to read their site if you click the link.
Now, Evan should press charges. Only dropping them when the family signs something that they will not go through with their threatened harassment lawsuit.

Extended Weekend
Woke up this morning, about 5 AM to horrendous thunder and lightning, with a little hail mixed in to add to my anxiety. Roads are closed all over the Houston area, the freeway into town for me is closed right now. At least 3 other of our 6 techs are flooded in right now.
Billed one job out remotely, but nothing else to do for work remotely. Hanging out here at the house with the boy and the wife. She is on bedrest till the twins are delivered. He is waiting for me to take him to school if I try to get to work today.
Check out the current radar below, I live in Pearland, so we've had some ugly and more ugly is headed our way.

Hi, I'm Gordo...
I'm a member of the Corona Crew. Among our hobbies are trafficing stolen merchandise, in particular, the stolen Sidekick that was used to take this picture. But I'm just a victim of the US educational system, if you don't believe me, just read my completely incoherent e-mail below. That's right bitch, wrote that while I was stone cold sober.
An e-mail to Evan from Gordo:
"i dont know what to tell you i tell you is not her the one the paid for the phone i was her mom i think u dont want to settle about the phone and now u have people calling her to the house get this straigth i dont know what you thinking but this dont finish here if you keep talking about us we dont care what u said. but we getting tired of you and you story next do a movie to see if u make money and dont ask for donation to people they really dont know y you doing this i can give you donation if u want too if you need a lawyer paid for it with the donation good night "
Keep in mind, if I ever try to beat up Evan, all he has to do is hop away on one foot. I'll never catch him if he moves that fast.
You can read all about my exploits with the Stolen Sidekick at Evan's site.

Darth makes the call...
So, why am I sending you money?
My homeowner's association sucks.
I've paid:
2003 - $500 association fee
2004 - $500 association fee
2005 - $400 association fee
So my wife called late last month to get a pool pass. She was told we missed the cut off date by one day, but they would look into it and call her back.
Since they hadn't called back as of yesterday, I called. Still no call back.
I called this morning, still no answer.
Assholes.
So, I'll fight back the only way I know how, here are some of their e-mail addresses for the spam crawlers. If I get a pool pass, I might take them down, but for now I'm pretty pissed.

Update 6-7-06:
I filled out their web form yesterday and got a sign up form for the pool via e-mail. Faxed it in this morning, and got an e-mail now saying the passes will be mailed today. We will see.
When I got home last nhight I dug out my covenants and all the correspondance from the management company for the past year. There is no provision in the covenants for them to keep me out of the pool area. Also, found the pool tag sign up form in the April newsletter, and there was no mention of a cut off date, and it said to call the office to get a pass.
I also called again and left a message, but they have never called myself or the wife back. Still a bunch of assholes.
Used my stub from paying my yearly dues to get into the neighborhood site. There is no mention of the association president or any other board member anywhere on the site. No way to contact the people in charge. This is a great system.
We will see if I get my pool passes in the next couple of days.

What I did on my summer Vacation, Day 4
Today was allright. I didn't have much to do for the day, so I mostly played it by ear.
Got up around 8AM. Made a pot of coffee and had a slice of apple pie. Wife was off for the day, so we didn't have to take the boy to school. She was going to her moms for the night, and taking the little dude with her.
10:00 AM - Had an appointment at the Doctor's office. Got re-ups for all my meds. Yeah! They took 4 vials of blood and a urine sample. The urine sample is new, not sure why they took it, but I'm always glad to pee in a cup for nearly complete strangers. It's fun.
Stopped at Home Depot on the way home and got four Crepe Mertyls and a Bradford Pear tree for the back yard. Going to plant them on Sunday.
Then finished up my closet project when I got home. Had an extra long cheese coney, onion rings and blue coconut slush for lunch from Sonic. Keeping up that healthy vacation eating.
About five I had had a shower and started playing XBOX with my friends from Clan Easy Frag. Played till about 1AM and I was falling asleep. Ate a bunch of food while I was playing, finishing off several bags of chips and some Tyson Chicken Nuggets. Washed it all down with a Six of Miller High Life.

What I did on my Summer Vacation, Day 3
6:45 AM - Boy woke me up, guess he was tired of sleeping.
7:15 AM - Got up and out of bed, switched on the news to find out about the weather for the day. Scattered showers, 70% chance of rain. Decided to take the boy to school so I could get some work done around the house.
8:00 AM - Back from dropping the Wild Man at school, I spread some more mulch in the front, got the trash out ahead of the trash man, cleaned the kitchen. Then I packed up a travel bag for the boy. Took a shower, got dressed and went to get the boy.
10:00 AM - Showed up at daycare and picked up the boy. He was happy to see me, shouting, "Leave now!" Packed him up in the truck and we headed to Galveston.
11:15 AM - Got to the McDonalds (Affectionately referred to as EIEIO by the boy) on Seawall Blvd. The little guy had never seen the ocean before, and immediately pointed at the water and said, "I go in there..." Explained to him that he couldn't go in there right then and there, but maybe later, on down the beach. Went in and had lunch.
12:00 PM - Left McDonalds and headed towards Moody Gardens. Found a nice deserted spot off the seawall to get out and let the little man run on the beach. After initially being scared, he got right into playing in the water. After about 30 minutes, we headed on over to Moody Gardens.
12:45 PM - Got to the Moody Gardens ticket window and found out that kids under 3 are free. Little man is 2 and 1/2 years exactally today, so he got in free. We went to the Aquarium Pyramid. He really liked the seals and some of the fish. He was constantly fascinated.
2:30 PM - Left Moody Gardens and headed for the Bolivar Fairy. Stopped at Walgreens to get something to drink along the way. Bought a cool shirt for my wife there too.
3:00 PM - Boarded the fairy, took the little guy up to the observation deck to watch as we crossed Galveston Bay. He had a great time looking at all the boats and birds and the other fairy we passed in crossing.
3:45 PM - Had a fit when we had to get off the fairy. Took the long way home up the Bloivar Pennsula to High Island and Winnie. Litte guy napped most of the way home.
5:15 PM - Got home ahead of Momma. Started on snacks when she arrived. Gave her the present from Walgreens. She is 7 months pregnant with Twins, and has been lamenting that she would never wear a bikini this summer. The gift was one of those oversize shirts with the bikini girl on the front and back. She got a kick out of the thing.
Relaxed and watched some Tivo'ed cartoons till we got hungry. Ordered Chinese delivery. I think we've been ordering out too much, when the doorbell rang, the little man got up and yelled, "Pizza!", and ran to the door.
Played a little Call Of Duty 2 on the XBOX 360 with my friends, now it's a little after 10:30 and I'm about to crash. I'm wiped from this long day.
