Terri Schiavo Dies at 41

Ok, she finally died. No matter what you belive aobut the case, you won't be able to change that.

So what can you do? Start thinking about the issues. I know my wife has downloaded a living will for us to fill out.

Make sure your family members know what you want done with the body when you are dead. That is the next big fight in the Schiavo case.

Finally, think about the issues. There have been other similar cases where courts would not intervene because family members get to make the choices, it is constitutional law, and we may not really want to change it for this matter. Anyone else remember Baby Doe?

Op Ed that states my idea more eloquently

No, I won't be happy when she dies. And I don't necessairly agree that our legal system is perfect. But it is what it is, and we all agree to live and die by the rules. Writing a law for one person alone is not a good thing, and can lead to much worse things. Then I saw this Op/Ed piece in the Houston Chronicle this morning. This says more about how I am thinking on the issue than anything else I have seen or read.

I'm not alone!

It is strange, usually I'm not in the majority when it comes to opinion polls about what the government is doing. But on this one I'm glad to be with the people and against our runaway governemnt. It is just plain wrong to pass legislation at the federal level that applies to one person. Franky it is the scariest thing I have ever witnessed.

No matter where you stand on the issue, this has scary implications for the future. Somebody not doing something you like, get a law passsed to prevent them from doing it, even if it would usually be within their rights to act that way.

Very wrong. Very scary.

Abstinence Pledgers Risk STDs, Study Claims

Ok, first, if you are having anal sex, you are not a virgin. You might be an ass fucker only, but you still are not a virgin. Oral sex - not a virgin. Cocksuckers and rugmunchers are not virgins. Your hymen might be intact, and your penis may never have been in a vagina, but you're not a virgin any longer after oral anal sex.

What a stupid waste of money this study was.

Feeding Tube Gone

Watching Good Morning America Weekend Edition - Ethically challenged Congressman Tom DeLay is on TV saying that she has less rights than a killer on Death Row. He also says that if you did this to an animal, it would be illegal.

Ok - again, she is married, and by law your spouse gets to make the decision when you are married. This is one of the primary reasons that homosexuals want to marry. Evidently for Tom DeLay, this is not an imporant right for folks that are married. Maybe this is one of his reasons for opposing gay marriage.

Killers on Death Row get lots of appeals. But I doubt that the Florida State Legislature has ever written a law to keep a killer from being executed. Then again, she is not being executed, she is being allowed to die.

Finally, if you had an animal that was this brain damaged, you would euthanize it. Something that once again is illegal to do to humans, wether they wish to die or not. Dr. Kevorkian proved that a few years back.

So why is the Ethically challenged Congressman Tom DeLay on TV? Good question, his district is in Texas, not Florida. I'm sure of this because I unfortunately live in his district. Could it be that he is a grandstanding, holier than thou, anything for an ultra conservative vote snake?

I vote snake!

Congressional Brain Damage?

Words escape me. Congress is subpeanoing a brain damaged woman that has not spoken in over 15 years to testify.

Maybe it's time to move to Canada. If only they didn't close Canada at 9:30 PM and on weekends...

Another important reminder from your friendly computer tech...

Ok,

If I'm coming to your comapny to work on your computer, you should clear your browser cache. Especially if you are having major problems with Internet Explorer, such as Spyware and Adware.

The computer I'm working on today has an owner that shops for very sexy lingere on a regular basis evidently. I'm having problems deleting the cache files, so it is not entirely her fault, I don't know if she could have deleted them either, but it is somewhat entertaining to see what she has been shopping for as I root through the cache looking for malicious content.

Nothing like files that make themselves difficult to delete. I like a challenge.

Government Micromanagement

Ok, now this is government going too far. This guy has been working to get his wife disconnected from a feeding tube for years and years. A right that is his, he married her, that's how it work. Her family has fought him, Florida has fought him. Finally, last week the Supreme Court said that the government should be out of this decision making process.

Now our Congress, who has acatually work and real issues to resolve, wants to use it's power of subpeano to stop it from happening.

Yet we make fun of Nero for fiddling when Rome burned.

Oh, remember, I've been in a coma. If I was in her state, I would want the plug pulled. Fourtnately, my family understands that my wife has the legal right to make this choice as long as we are married.

Office Frustration

Ok, had an odd problem with Office 2003 today for which I could find no online help.

Customer could Copy and Paste within an Excel document. However, he could not copy from one Excel document to another. He could copy from Word to Excel, and Excel to Word, etc. When Microsoft Clipboard was brought up, it's behavior was erratic at best, with the most common message being "Item Not Collected". Microsoft's help for Office did not help, and for all the users I found on the Internet with this problem, none had solved it yet. I found a forum at Office Frustration (linked below) that had some ideas, but no solution. I have posted the solution I found there as well as here. Enjoy.

To solve this problem, you need to reset Office 2003 to it's just installed/out of box configuration. Do this with the following steps:

Go to "Help - Detect And Repair" - Check the Discard Customized box and hit Start. It will not fix the problem without checking this box.

Cows & Chickens are Induhviduals...

Some researchers, with very little understanding of the food chain, are suggesting that we reconsider animal welfare in the face of their research that says animals are individuals with emotions and hopes and goals. They are concerned that the animals may be unhappy, and are not getting the proper care, comparing the animals to humans.

Ok, lessee..

1. They are not humans.

2. They taste good.

3. I didn't spend millions of years evolving, growing eyes in the front of my head for stereoscopic vision, developing an acute sense of hearing, and a taste for Roasted/Boiled/Fried flesh by worrying if my Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner felt any pain.

4. I don't think many other predators consider the pain they cause their meals either. Can you see two lions discussing, "Well, we could eat that delicious gazelle, but then his friends would miss him, his mate would be all alone, and his children would be raised in a heard without their father." Hell no. First, my example leads to the main gist of the problem, we are anthromorphizing animals to an extreme that is absurd. Second, gazelles are too tasty to pass up when you get the chance to eat one. If you're lower on the food chain and taste good, your fate is to be a meal for something higher up the chain.

5. If you would like to see a fictional, yet entertaining account of these nuts ideas taken to it's conclusion, I recommend reading The restaurant At The End Of The Universe by Douglas Adams. There you will meet a sentient being that has known since birth it has been raised to be food. It will even come to your table and suggest the parts of it that will taste the best.

The 1,121 Naughty Words

Evidently there are a lot of things you cannot get on your personalized NFL jersey from the NFL Shop. However, "Incest" is alright, while "Insest" is not. Kind of funny that the NFL seems to be as illiterate as their players.

A historical question...

Ok, this is an odd thought, but I was wondering today.

Was World War I called World War I before World War II?

Or was it just refered to as The World War?

Or, was it called something completely different?
