How do I get this job?
Got up this morning, ready to take my walk, checked the online weather. How can I get a job where I don't even have to try to be right and still get paid? Tuesday's Low? 61. Current Day/Temp? Tuesday/52? WTF? Ok, I'm guessing you just randomly pick some numbers then for the weather page and charts. Clip is from the Houston Chronice website, taken at approximately 6:15 AM, Tuesday March 25, 2008.

Heading Back To Dalls...
Ok,
Went to Dallas a couple of weeks ago to check out a bank we bought up there.
Got to Houston Hobby at 7 AM for my 8 AM flight, but thanks to Southwest Airlines messed up maintenance and heavy fog, didn't leave till 11:30 AM. Screwed up the whole day.
So, I'm going back this Thursday, hopefully it will go better. Here are some hilights from the last trip:
I'm not sure, but this might have been Paris Hilton. However, I did see her using a computer, so probably not.

For the last trip, when I went to make our reservation with Dollar Rent A Car, the "Luxury" was the least expensive model, so I chose that. This is our "Luxury" car, yep, a fucking "Luxury" station wagon. Piece of shit.

Half Assed Parking
Went to the mall for lunch today and found this tremendous parking job.
This is truly a half assed job, the ass end is the half that is in the parking space.
We looked around while going for lunch and didn't see anyone who looked obviously drunk.
When we came out we noticed it had been ticketed by the Mall Cops. Look out buddy, the Baybrook Mall Police are after you!

The New English
Our IT Department loves to eat at this little Mexican resturant near the office on a fairly regular basis. We go there at least a couple of times a month. We were all amused by the following sign one day:
Yep, it says, "We are not resposible for lost of money on this machines." Ok, I understand you are not resposible, but if you aren't resposible, who is resposible?

Addicted!
Got caffine? I think I might be addicted. This is from a day a few weeks ago, I was setting up a new branch in Dallas, I needed some extra energy.

I need about 87 Advil
And there won't be 30 left when I am done with the bottle...
Last night the wife and I made the trek to The Meridian in Houston to see They Might Be Giants, with special opening act Oppenheimer. We had a tremendous time. Split a pint of 100 Proof Southern Comfort in the parking lot before the show. Had some Shiner Bocks during the show. I'm paying for it today, and she feels even worse, but it is a small price to pay for some quality entertainment and a good buzz.
As is usual, They Might Be Giants brought along an interesting opening act. These two guys came out on stage, and I thought they must be roadies when they started messing with the equipment. Funny looking guys, one kinda chubby, the other bald and skinny. The skinny guy sat down at a drum set and introduced himself as Jeff, the other guy as Rocky, they were from Dublin, Ireland, then they started jamming. Jeff played the drums and some sort of plastic wind instrument that looked like a toy piano. Rocky played a six string guitar and a couple of different synths, including one that he sung though to modulate his voice.
Their sound was uniquely rock, the songs kind of quirky like They Might Be Giants, and they had a great stage prescence. When someone heckled "Fucking Phil Collins", Jeff quickly rattled off that and a few others that "We've never heard those before, huh Rocky?" Throughout the show there was banter like this with the crowd, and it made the show really fun. They showed a lot of potential for the future.
Oppenhiemer Live
After the whole thing was over, Oppenheimer was out in the lobby hawking and signing albums and t-shrits. Got a copy of thier album, which they signed for us. Will post something about that later. They also posed for a picture for this blog.
Oppenheimer Hams It Up:
After a breif change over to get rid of Oppenheimer's equipment and throw out some TMBG Foam Fingers, They Might Be Giants came out and played a rocking, rolicking show with two encores. I don't have a set list, but they played both old and new stuff, a really great mix. John, John, Dan, Dan and Frank. Evidently Frank is new, the other drummer had a kid and didn't want to be on tour when there was a newborn in the house. Tells me he has never had a kid, when they are newborns is the best time to get out of the house.
Fansburgh & Linnell
John Linnell broke out his "Main Squeeze" accordian a couple of times during the show and did some bad ass work. Particle Man was a particular stand out for the evening.
Linnell & His Main Squeeze
John Flansburgh is just amazing. He did some really cool sounding guitar work, and never, ever, stopped moving. This was the clearest picture we could take. I have several that are just blurry or where he moved out of the shot.
Flansburg never stops moving!
All in all it was a Damn Good Time, which brings me to the one song I videoed. Funny thing, this was a totally random choice, and it turned out to be the exact same song that I got last year in Vegas. Life is funny that way. Enjoy1

An Update on the Lack Of Updates
I've been freaking busy. There were issues at work. They have seemed to have been resolved for the time being. There are projects at work, I feel a bit like Sisiphus currently. Things have been damn good at home, but I've just been too busy to post much, or at all for the past few months. But I think I can make a stab at some regular updates soon. Both my readers will be so excited.
